CAREER

 

Tenured professor in the Department of Contemporary History of the UPV/EHU since 1996, where he has developed his teaching and research activity since the year 1988.
Degree in Geography and History from the UPV/EHU (1981) and PhD in Geography and History from the UPV/EHU (1994).
He has made research stays at the University of Nevada (1991-1992), the University of Leuven (1995), the Ateneo Español de México (1999), the Ecole Hautes Etudes Sciences Sociales (2001), the Ecole Hautes Etudes Sciences Sociales and the University of Nanterre Paris X (2002), and the Free University of Berlin (2005).
He has been a professor in the Faculty of Social and Communication Sciences since 1988. Together with his teaching work on undergraduate courses, he has also taught on the doctoral program of the Department of Contemporary History and on different Masters of the same university.
He has directed 2 doctoral theses, one of which was an international degree,rolex replika both evaluated with the highest qualification.
He develops his research activity in the consolidated research group “Biography & Parliament”, specialising in research lines dealing with the analysis of elites through collective biography and prosopographical analysis, and the analysis of ideas.
He has participated in numerous research projects and contracts. He is the author or co-author of 50 publications, including books, book chapters and articles published in Spain and France.
He was awarded the Manuel de Irujo Prize in recognition of his research career (2015).
He is also active in the publishing field as a member of the editorial committee of the journal Vasconia.
In the management field he was Vice-Dean of the Faculty (2000-2003) and President of the History Section of the Basque Studies Society Eusko Ikaskuntza (1997-2000).
