Tenured professor in the Department of Contemporary History of the UPV/EHU since 2014, and previously a part-time professor at the same university from 2012. Degree in Philosophy and Letters from the University of Zaragoza (1989) and aPhD in History from the Public University of Navarre (Universidad Pública de Navarra/Nafarroako Unibertsitate Publikoa) (2003).
He has made research stays at the Universitat de València (2015).
He has been a professor in the Faculty of Social and Communication Sciences since 2012 and in the Faculty of Letters since 2017. Together with his teaching work on undergraduate courses, he has also taught on the doctoral program of the Department of Sociology between 2004 and 2006 and the Masters’ program of the Department of Contemporary History in 2016.
He has also participated in seminars at the following universities: Oviedo (2006), UNED (2010), City University of New York (2011), Autónoma de Barcelona (2016) and Valencia (2017).
He develops his research activity in the consolidated research group “Biography & Parliament”, specialising in research lines dealing with the comparative analysis of regionalism in Navarre and Valencia, as well as the relation between language and national identity.
He is the author or co-author of 8 books, 9 book chapters and 13 academic articles published in Spanish, Basque, English, French and Italian.
Referee for the journals Sancho el Sabio (Fundación Sancho el Sabio), Nazioni e Region (Università degli Studi “Aldo Moro” de Bari). Rúbrica Contemporánea (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) and Vasconia (Sociedad de Estudios Vascos/Eusko Ikaskuntza).
